At cloud-native events, from local meetups to global conferences, I’ve often wished to see more women participating. When I got the chance to attend KubeCon + CloudNativeCon 2024 in Delhi as a Dan Kohn Scholarship recipient, I was excited—but also wished I had more women alongside me. From our locale DevOps and Cloud Native group, I was the only woman who made it. Some thought I’d cancel without fellow women, but I believed that if I showed up, maybe next time, more would too. So, I went, explored the Cloud Native culture, and it was an incredible experience!
Through this talk, I want to highlight how welcoming the cloud-native community is, the amazing opportunities available, and how we can inspire more women to join. I’ll share my journey, the challenges I navigated, and the doors that opened for me. Let’s create a space where more women feel encouraged to take that first step—because the more of us there are, the stronger our community becomes!
